“So tell my about yourself” is possibly the most nerve wracking question in the world. Everything you know about yourself gets forgotten within seconds and all you can think of is “Uhh where to start?”. Thankfully there are kind people in this world who create personality test to really get a sense of what makes you, you. It’s so accurate it’s scary!
My name is Kelly Castro, and I am a high school senior. According to 16Personalities I am a campaigner who is the life of the party, independent, compassionate, charming, and energetic. No lies detected there! I would say my strongest assets are my social skills and being able to adapt to any social environment. I also have great teamwork skills and leadership skills. My strengths are my weaknesses because with great social skills I get distracted. Being able to adapt to different social environments, I tend to let myself be myself a little too quick. It’s not a terrible thing but sometimes I would like to keep myself a mystery before I get comfortable around others. Its something about that “so who are you?” question that gets me excited to let them know I am.
I’ve always been a huge dreamer ever since I was little but I mean who hasn’t. Everyone has always dreamt of being something big in this world but many fail to really go through with it, however I actually plan to go through with it. I’ve always been interested in performing arts but never really told anyone because I didn’t want be judged for it. Now I am not as you can tell. Those who doubt are secret haters. It wasn’t until 2012 (my middle school days) when I realized that it is something I really want to pursue. I would like to thank SNL for helping me realize that acting is my calling. The problem is I’ve never had resources to actually start due with not being able to afford acting classes or even be accessible in the schools I’ve been to. This is why I am looking for possible internships I can be apart of to start my journey of becoming an actress. Nonetheless, before I begin that process I have to get myself an internship that allows me to grow and expand my strengths and better my weaknesses. It would be amazing to start off an internship in performing arts, but they are so limited around Oakland. Whatever comes to me first will happen for a reason and I will be grateful for the opportunity. Always be grateful for the opportunities you receive because sometimes they are blessings sent to open up a path to success.
